CASUAL PSW for our
WINDWARD HOUSING PROGRAM (F002)
LOCATION: Bathurst/Lakeshore
PARKING: There are 3 parking spots available at this location
If they are filled, you will have to find metered parking in the area or pay for underground parking

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Provides personal support services (i.e., activities of daily living, lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, respiration, meals/drinks, general hygiene) to clients in their homes.
- Be part of the UNIFOR union
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- A passion for providing exceptional personal support services to male/female clients
- Ability to lift and transfer clients
- Manages time in co-operation with clients to complete tasks
- Ability to accept direction from client's regarding services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and judgment skills
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 computer skills (Outlook, Word)
WHAT HOURS YOU’LL WORK:

This opportunity has no set permanent work schedule.
- You MUST be available as follows:
- 3 days a week between Monday to Sunday & must be able to work at least a 4 hour period between the hours of 8am to 4pm, with a start time of 8am.
- of the 3 days, 1 must be a Saturday or Sunday

NOTE: there also is availability to pick up shifts as follows:
- 4pm - 12pm with 4pm, 6pm or 8pm start times
- overnight shift from 12am - 8am with 12am or 4am start times
HOW TO QUALIFY:
- Completed a PSW Program that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association and must be 600 hours in duration (including class time and practical experience time). This also includes a PSW Program from an Adult and Continuing Education School Board.
- 1-year PSW experience gained in the physical disabilities sector
- Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) membership would be considered an asset
- Proof of First Aid and CPR certificate
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Person)

About PACE Independent Living
PACE Independent Living is a charitable, non-profit community support service organization that provides services to adults with disabilities who choose to live independent lives. PACE provides services to approximately 300+ individuals who have a variety of disabilities including multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, and muscular dystrophy.
Services are provided in supportive housing sites (24/7 through pre-booked services as well as emergency services) and through Attendant Services - at home, school or work on a pre-booked basis. PACE also offers short and long-term community based support services at both a supportive housing site (Edwards Manor) and an adult day program facility (Paula Cassin Learning Centre) for individuals living with the effects of an acquired brain injury (abi). At the abi day programs, PACE workshops provide individuals opportunities to practice new skills, learn new information, or to "re-learn" and practice old skills and information impacted by the brain injury. Individuals are partnered with staff coaches who help define goals, keep the person on track, and provide extra support if needed.
