Position Summary:

The Revenue Analyst position as a member of the Finance team will report directly to the Manager - General Accounting. The incumbent plays a lead role in Billing/Accounts Receivable (B/AR) processes as well as Treasury functions for the department (bank reconciliations, Ministry of Health/OH Funding revenue reconciliations, cash flow reports and forecasts).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing B/AR month end close procedures; includes client billing & financial/system reconciliations.
  • Ongoing maintenance of system (MEDITECH) dictionaries and associated Management Information System (MIS) & B/AR databases.
  • Recurring month-end journal entries and reconciliations related to Patient & Non-Patient revenues.
  • Reviews Patient Accommodation placement report and identifies potential room placement opportunities.
  • Assistance with Patient & Non-Patient revenue budgets; including variance analysis and investigation of anomalies.
  • Appropriate internal stakeholder collaboration reviewing Patient revenues.
  • Assistance vetting various Accounts Receivable queries during audit.
  • Supporting B/AR Clerks as required.
  • Ad-hoc support of various financial reporting and accounts receivable tasks.
  • Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations for all Hospital bank accounts.
  • Performs reconciliations and review related to Ministry of Health and Ontario Health funding and investigates anomalies.
  • Performs Hospital cash flow reports and forecasts monthly.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business/Accounting (preferred).
  • Working towards recognized accounting designation (CPA) or at least three years accounting and or hospital experience (preferred).
  • Health Information System experience an asset (MEDITECH-Admissions, B/AR, General Ledger & MIS Database).
  • Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) knowledge (preferred).
  • Proficiency at an advanced level in Microsoft Access, Excel (required).
  • Proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint & Word (preferred).
  • Demonstrated intermediate level analytical & critical thinking skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond toward requirement changes and manage conflicting deadlines appropriately.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours in time sensitive situations.
