About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Paralegal to join our team. This is a remote position for the MST/CST/EST zone.

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Paralegal with experience in insurance services to support our legal and compliance functions. This role involves managing the licensing and regulatory filings for the company and various business lines in multiple states. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a working knowledge of insurance services regulations, and experience with state department of insurance portals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file license applications and renewals in all required jurisdictions.
  • Monitor license status and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain and update licensing databases, tracking expirations, and all other deadlines.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulators, internal departments, and external stakeholders regarding licensing matters.
  • Assist with audits, regulatory filings, and investigations as needed.
  • Research and interpret statutes, regulations, and administrative rules related to licensing and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of filings, communications, and deadlines.
  • Manage corporate regulatory filings.
  • Review contracts including NDA's and standard agreements.
  • Handle subpoena responses on behalf of the Company.
  • Maintain Secretary of State filings.
  • Assist with reviewing RFPs.
  • Other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Experience using regulatory systems such as NIPR, Sircon, and state-specific DOI portals.
  • Familiarity with multi-state regulatory environments and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and legal research platforms.
  • Prior law firm experience a plus.
  • Prior insurance industry experience a plus.
