About the role

Your Opportunity:

The South Health Campus opened in the fall of 2012 and is a full-service hospital, including Women’s Health, NICU, Emergency, Surgery and Mental Health. The SHC is an innovative concept that is more than a “hospital”. It is built in a campus environment and includes inpatient, outpatient and wellness facilities with partners such as a YMCA, as well as retail and commercial partnerships. The SHC hospital adheres to four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care and Innovation. These pillars serve as the key philosophical principles to be used in the development and service of all care to patients and families at SHC. The Cardiac & Internal Medicine Inpatient Unit (ACU 66), working collaboratively with all the clinical teams spread across the South Health Campus, is in the process of hiring a casual Unit Clerk. Our unit offers a unique opportunity to work with acute General Internal Medicine and Cardiology patients in a modern environment.

The Unit Clerk, under minimal supervision, is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of the nursing unit. As the initial contact person, the Unit Clerk is instrumental in facilitating communication between patients and families, other clinical departments and the staff on the Unit. The incumbent is accountable and responsible for completing duties in Epic – Connect Care in relation to admissions, transfers, discharges, and referral management. During downtime procedures the Unit Clerk is responsible for printing relevant clinical data.
