Take Your Career to New Heights with Flair Airlines

We’re here to make air travel affordable for everyone, and we’re looking for talented individuals who want to help us continue changing the industry for the better. As Canada’s most reliable airline, we're all about offering real value. As we continue to expand our network, increase flight frequencies, and introduce more services, we’re looking for passionate team members to help us in our mission to make air travel accessible for everyone. We know who we are, and we’re confident in our approach—but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Your Team:

Join Flair’s Safety, Security & Compliance team, where attention to detail and regulatory alignment support the safe and secure operation of our airline. As the Compliance Coordinator, you will provide administrative and coordination support across the department’s safety, security, and compliance functions. Reporting to the Director, Safety, Security & Compliance, you will assist with the execution of internal processes, including safety investigations, the Safety Management System (SMS), regulatory audits, and security programs. This role ensures timely documentation, communication, and tracking of compliance activities to support adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.

This position is based on-site at our Edmonton (YEG), Calgary (YYC), or Vancouver (YVR) office.

A Day in the Life:

  • Support the administration and coordination of safety investigations, ensuring documentation, follow-up actions, and record-keeping are completed in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and manage safety-related documentation, including safety reports, risk assessments, and investigation outcomes.
  • Provide administrative support for the Safety Management System (SMS), including data entry, tracking corrective actions, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support Quality and Compliance initiatives by tracking audit schedules, maintaining audit documentation, and assisting with corrective and preventative actions.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, including CARs, Standards, TDGR, and CASR, by identifying and communicating regulatory changes to relevant departments on a monthly basis.
  • Identify manuals and training programs requiring amendments due to regulatory changes and coordinate implementation with affected departments.
  • Contribute to the development and streamlining of cross-departmental processes and procedures.
  • Identify Quality Assurance checklists needing updates due to changes in regulation, policy, or procedures, and collaborate with departments to implement updates effectively.
  • Work closely with departments to investigate findings from regulatory non-conformances and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate proactively in identifying and tracking new regulations that may impact Flair Airlines, particularly as the company grows into new markets.
  • Provide administrative support for the Security program, including tracking documentation, assisting with compliance requirements, and supporting internal coordination.
  • Actively participate in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Safety, Security & Compliance.

What You Bring to the Role:

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values: honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect, while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

  • Education:
    • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as business administration, aviation, safety, compliance, or a related discipline is preferred.
    • Additional training or certification in Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Assurance, or aviation regulatory compliance is considered an asset.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in aviation compliance, safety, quality assurance, or a related regulatory environment
    • Demonstrated administrative experience supporting safety, security, or compliance functions, including documentation control, records management, and coordination of regulatory submissions
    • Familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR), Canadian Aviation Security Regulations (CASRs), and related standards
    • Experience supporting or coordinating internal and external audits, investigations, or regulatory reviews
    • Experience working in or supporting Safety Management System (SMS) and/or Quality Assurance (QA) functions
    • Previous experience liaising with regulatory bodies or government agencies such as Transport Canada or airport authorities is an asset
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
    • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in documentation and data entry
    • Ability to interpret and apply aviation regulations, policies, and procedures across departmental functions
    • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external agencies
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
    • Proactive approach to identifying process improvements and contributing to department efficiency
    • Adaptable and dependable, with the ability to respond effectively to changing operational requirements
  • Requirements:
    • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references
    • Ability to maintain a valid Passport to accommodate work travel.
