iHotel & Conference Centre is recruiting for Events & Catering Co-coordinator
Responsibilities and qualifications: Responsible for booking, planning and co-coordinating all events in the hotel. This person will handle and co-ordinate their time between customer inquiries for meeting/guest room space, accurately details all client events to include meeting room set up, food and beverage requirements, audio/visual requirements and co-ordinates with the other departments in the hotel to ensure successful event for the guests.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Strong organizational and attention to detail is a must with all events,
- Attention to Detail and great Memory for details as well
- Handling inquiry calls for food and beverage space and guestrooms. Administrative duties are also included in this position. Multitasking and Cold Calling is a critical part of this position.
- Pursuing new accounts, inactive customer accounts and making calls to new business for sales and catering
- Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude - Yes I can attitude
- Strong understanding of food and beverage and great attention to detail in a busy office
- Organizing details for all catering functions including Banquet event orders and group events and distributing all pertinent information to the appropriate hotel areas
- Organizes and maintains a favorable working relationship with all associates and customers to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious relationship
- Efficiency and professionally co-ordinate customer needs and requirements
- To be proactive in selling strategies aimed at our existing customers
- Follow up and Attention to detail for all events - Communications with all departments necessary as well
Job Requirements: Exceptional communications skills, excellent interpersonal and organization skills
- Impeccable computer literacy, telephone manners and impersonal skills and personal presentation
- Sales experience within a hotel environment - calling clients/old/new/perspective clients
- Knowledge of Opera Property management system is an asset
- Requires knowledge of the principles and practices within the Catering, sales and food and beverage department
- Impeccable computer literacy is an asset
- Attention to detail and information including multi-tasking.
- Speak, Write and Read English - Great communication skills
- Able to Work Weekends and Evenings when required for events/weddings
