Position Overview:
Reporting to the AVP, Client Solutions this is a key strategic role, supporting the Assistant Vice President, Client Solutions in delivering the full breadth and capabilities of BNY, CIBC Mellon and CIBC to top clients and prospects, focused on developing and delivering solutions for client requirements. Responsible for consulting and solutioning with target prospects and clients in the pre-decision making phase. Working with the on-boarding team, and developing, sustaining and growing the relationship for a select group of CIBC Mellon’s large/complex clients for the transition period until steady-state operations and relationship is sustainable.
Clients are complex and generally require customized solutions. The Director, Client Solutions will work with the relationship management and service teams, as well as product and new initiative sponsorship with a focus on strategic road maps and solutions. Incubation of BNY alignment initiatives that relate to product offerings for top accounts through to maturity such as middle office.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the business development team to develop solutions for directed prospective client firms, including managing output of the deliverables for the prospective client
- Assist with the identification and design of transformational client solutions, addressing complex operating model and delivery needs
- Work with relationship management team to understand client challenges, define potential solutions for directed client firms, including managing the output of the deliverables for clients
- Support the strategic road maps for directed clients and manage the programs for these road maps
- Conduct activities in support of the acquisition of new business including visits to prospective client sites, demonstrating CIBC Mellon and BNY products/services, initial identification of client requirements and conducting client sales presentations at all stages throughout the sales cycle
- Working with product management team, identifies industry trends and issues and monitors the competitive landscape to proactively anticipate potential needs, issues or concerns based on knowledge of the client
- Identify opportunities to achieve target profitability and grow the business through cross-selling and up-selling
- Enrich the end-to-end client experience by streamlining solution design, sales, implementation and service delivery across products
- Advocate for the client by leveraging internal subject matter experts within CIBC Mellon’s operational functions to ensure client service expectations are met, resolving and assessing identified issues/concerns, and championing efficiency opportunities within the client’s organization
- Partner with Client Service Delivery to ensure adherence to CIBC Mellon’s policies and manage risk
Qualifications:
- Significant depth and experience with financial services products and services with a proven ability to navigate challenges to reach execution
- University Degree
- 7-10 years of progressive experience within a financial institution
- Knowledge of sales and marketing concepts and theories
- Technical knowledge of global securities services and trust industries
- Understanding of trends/issues in the securities, asset manager and asset owner industries
- A highly proactive self-starter; a persuasive communicator
