Position Summary:
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Transfer Station facility while also actively operating heavy equipment as required. This dual role is essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of operators, ensure operational excellence, and directly support site activities through the skilled operation of heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Supervision:

Oversee daily operations including waste intake, sorting, and processing activities.

Schedule and coordinate work assignments to maximize operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
Heavy Equipment Operation:
-
Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, or bulldozers to support daily transfer station activities.

Perform equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance checks before use.

Assist with site maintenance, material handling, and other operational needs.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions regularly.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies as needed to maintain compliance.
Quality Control:
- Monitor sorting and processing to minimize contamination and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and address issues related to improper disposal or handling practices.
Team Supervision:
- Lead, coach, and support team members to achieve performance goals.
- Participate in training, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure all machinery remains in proper working condition.
- Assist in planning and scheduling routine inspections and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within waste management, construction, or a similar industry.
- Valid certification and demonstrated experience in operating heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
