What You'll Do;

As the Marketing Liaison and Merchandise Reporting Manager for Sporting Life (SL), you will play a pivotal role in driving data-informed decisions that support our Merchandising Vice Presidents across apparel, footwear, and hardgoods categories.

By translating complex data into clear and actionable insights, you will help shape strategies that enhance product performance and improve marketing effectiveness. In this role, you will lead cross-department collaboration, ensuring that merchandising initiatives align closely with marketing efforts and operational priorities.

  • Delivering performance dashboards for merchandising activities and identifying areas of improvement through coordination, communication, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Managing a scorecard for key merchandising metrics including shipping, zero sales, and min-max inventory reporting providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Interpreting financial results and contributing to roadmap planning through informed analysis.
  • Leading promo-planning and execution of “deal of the day” initiatives across Merchandising, Operations, and Marketing, ensuring alignment and compliance.
  • Consolidating and sharing weekly, monthly, and seasonal merchandising campaigns with Marketing and Operations teams. Acting as the key liaison between merchants and marketing.
  • Participating in cross-functional meetings, ensuring clarity of deliverables and consistency in communication; serving as the central contact for execution-related inquiries.
  • Collaborating with stores, buyers, and planners to implement assortment, allocation, replenishment, and space strategies.
  • Supporting stores with questions related to pricing, receiving, and promotional execution.

What You'll Bring;

  • 3–5 years of experience in retail planning, buying, or merchandising with a solid understanding of inventory management, retail merchandising, and store operations.
  • Post-secondary education in retail, marketing, business, or finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into insights and recommendations, with advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, follow-through mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting business needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
