Out to Play offers an Independent School, a summer daycamp program and 1:1 Forest and Nature School experiences onsite in Ottawa, Kemptville and Dunrobin.
Out to Play’s Forest and Nature School pedagogy is defined as child-centred, inquiry-driven, interest-led, educator-supported learning and connecting through play on the land. At Out to Play children spend most of every day outside and on the land, through all the seasons and through all the weather. This wholly outdoors, child-centred and play-based approach is unique and as such, Out to Play is also a demonstration site for childcare centres, colleges and universities.
Out to Play is hiring both 1-2 Early Childhood Educators to teach in the Forest and Nature School in Kemptville at Kemptville Campus. Additional days of work might be possible in Nepean/Kanata, if interested.
The days run 8:15-3:30 and include limited admin and maintenance tasks, alongside the responsibility of facilitating creative, playful and imaginative mentorship of children on the land.
You'll be working with a team of incredible educators who care very much about the children and our community of families. We value integrity, hard-work, a commitment to reflection and learning, and having a laugh at the end of the day.
Criteria for consideration:

A First Aid certification

Active Ontario College of Teachers or Early Childhood Education qualifications or
A Forest and Nature School Practitioners Course or Child and Youth work or equivalent

A Vulnerable Sector Police Check
-
An interest working outdoors in all kinds of weather alongside creative, lively children
-
An interest in child-development, an understanding of neurodiversity, and kind, affirming ways of supporting children's challenges.

French and English proficiency.
