POSITION TITLE: Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO)
LOCATION: Remote Long Range Radar Sites in Shepard Bay, NU (CAM-3) & Remote Long Range Radar Sites Cape Dyer, NU (DYE-MAIN)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Reliability
REPORTS TO: Zone Manager
About Us Nasittuq Corporation (from the Inuktitut word meaning “looking out from the highest point”) operates and maintains the North Warning System (NWS), a critical joint Canada-US radar network with 47 sites across Northern Canada.

- Maintaining roads, grounds, and gravel surfaces to ensure safe route passage
- Safe operation of standard construction and heavy equipment (front end loaders, dozers, graders, trucks, dump truck, forklift) to maintain roads, run-ways, and grounds
- Experience with snow clearing processes and equipment
- Performing daily checks prior to vehicle use
- Assisting with Mobile Support Equipment (MSE) maintenance/repairs and documents maintenance routines
- Cleaning vehicles, performing fuel dips and fuel transfers, and assisting with sealift material delivery
Qualifications CERTIFICATE(S) / LICENSE(S):
- Licensed heavy equipment operator with Air Brake certification (DZ License)
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Operators of GFE MSE must complete a Safe Backing course
- Operators of GFE MSE being operated on airport ramps or runways must be authorized to do so by the appropriate Airport Authority
Experience
- Demonstrated experience operating equipment (loaders, graders, dozers, dump trucks etc.) in a safe manner
- Must be experienced or trained on driving vehicles with attached trailers
WHY JOIN US? ROTATION & OVERTIME: 6 weeks in/6 weeks out rotation (48-hour workweeks) with overtime at 1.5x your base rate. Paid travel days (up to 2 days) with all travel costs covered.
