Job Summary

The Faculty of Health is the second largest Faculty at Dalhousie, comprised of eight schools, one college and one program, three affiliated partners and more than 200 faculty members, 80 staff members, hundreds of part-time employees and over 3000 students. Reporting to the Director of Finance, Faculty of Health, the Financial Analyst, Nursing Programs, will lead the development of quarterly and annual financial reports for the School of Nursing’s external revenue sources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult on major financial proposals for new and existing programs.

  • Provide critical operating budget variance analysis at key intervals and prepare forecasts.

  • Monitor financial compliance with the School of Nursing’s various funding agreements.

  • Prepare, maintain and disseminate working papers for the School of Nursing’s annual audit and liaise with auditors where required.

  • Oversee the submission of provincial data enrolment reports and quantify impact of enrolment changes.

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce plus approximately three to five years’ relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).

  • Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing deadlines, priorities, and business processes.

  • Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Assets

  • Experience in a post-secondary institution or non-profit.
