Our client, a leading Canadian bank, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analysts to support Capital Reporting and Sell-Side functions within the Capital Markets division.

These positions are essential in helping stabilize a newly restructured reporting team and ensure timely, accurate delivery of financial reports tied to capital markets operations.

This is a functionally focused Business Analyst role.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in capital markets financial reporting, experience with derivatives, and a proven ability to gather requirements, create BRDs, and lead UAT processes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
-
Act as a liaison between finance and business stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements (BRDs) for financial and regulatory reporting.

Own and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts to ensure accurate implementation of reporting enhancements.
-
Support and improve capital markets reporting with a focus on derivatives, P&L control, and financial instrument reporting.
-
Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and control compliance.
-
Create and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and reporting summaries for leadership review.
-
Identify areas for process improvement and potential automation within the reporting function.

Collaborate with governance, finance, and middle office teams to meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
-
10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services or capital markets, with a clear focus on financial reporting.

Must have hands-on experience working with derivatives and strong understanding of capital markets products.
-
Proven ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements (BRDs).
-
Drive and manage BAU financial and regulatory reporting activities, including P&L, trade data reconciliation, controls testing, and exception handling.

Own and optimize recurring deliverables such as BCAR, NCR, liquidity reporting, and other Basel-aligned frameworks.

Experience leading UAT and coordinating with business users for testing and validation.

Solid understanding of financial reporting controls, reconciliations, and governance practices.

Strong proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL is an asset, but not core to the role.

Excellent communication skills, especially in translating reporting requirements into deliverables for cross-functional teams.

Exposure to a wide range of capital markets instruments (e.g., repos, swaps, bonds).

Experience working in regulated environments with audit/compliance involvement.
