Job Summary
The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality swim instruction to children and adults, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning experience. This includes teaching swimming techniques, monitoring safety, and guiding participants through the Lifesaving Society Program levels. The Swim Instructor will maintain a positive and supportive learning environment while adapting lessons to various skill levels and learning styles.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Instruct swim lessons for children and adults, ensuring proper technique and progression.
· Lead swim classes independently throughout full sessions.
· Maintain a safe and engaging environment at all times.
· Adapt instruction for varying abilities and learning styles.
· Enforce pool safety rules and respond to emergencies when necessary.
· Provide first aid, CPR, or emergency care as required.
· Demonstrate strong communication, punctuality, and reliability.
Qualifications and Skills
· Lifesaving Instructor Certification (Lifesaving Society)
· Swim Instructor Certification (Lifesaving Society)
· National Lifeguard – Pool Certification (Lifesaving Society)
· Emergency First Aid Instructor Certification (Lifesaving Society)
· Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED Certification
· Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
· Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
· Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
· Physically able to meet the demands of instructing and assisting in the pool
