Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Holiday Decorator – Christmas and Seasonal Displays to join our Holiday team. This role is responsible for assembling, decorating and installing both artificial and live Christmas trees and seasonal décor for corporate offices, hotels and commercial spaces.
The ideal candidate will enjoy detailed hands-on work with a keen eye for design. These skills are used to decorate Holiday pieces such as Christmas trees, garlands and wreaths. Consistency, the ability to follow instructions and re-create photo references, and work independently are key skills required.
This is a physical, hands-on role that involves both warehouse and onsite work. Most of the year, hours will be regular weekdays, 9am to 5:30pm in our Burnaby warehouse. Through the busy Holiday season (November through January) hours will vary, including early mornings, overnight, weekends, and holidays. Locations for onsite work will be primarily in the Lower Mainland area. Responsibilities include decorating Holiday pieces, preparing orders, loading and unloading trucks, delivering and installing décor onsite, and returning and restoring items post-season.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in our Burnaby warehouse and onsite in the Lowe Mainland preparing orders, loading trucks, delivering, installing and removing decor. During the busy holiday season, hours will include evenings and weekends.
- Decorate pieces for Holiday and seasonal displays.
- Decorate, clean, prepare, and pull orders; ensure all items are complete and install-ready.
- Assist in the execution of décor, including shipping and receiving, loading trucks, setup, and strike.
- Ensure timely and high-quality production of orders while meeting aesthetic standards and client expectations.
- Maintain the Holiday inventory of decor and greenery materials, flag damages or shortages, complete repairs, regular warehouse cleaning and maintenance.
- Uphold safe warehouse and onsite conduct and support general cleanliness and organization.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of design and aesthetics.
- Detail oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work from ladders or scaffolding
- Able to maintain consistent work output, complete repetitive tasks, and maintain an efficient work pace.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience using hand tools and glue guns.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed
Assets (Not Required)
- Experience in interior design, event décor, floral design, set design, or theatre/live event production.
- Knowledge of floral techniques and biophilic design principles.
- Ability to drive a truck and assist with deliveries and installs.
- Familiarity with power tools and painting knowledge.
