Braineer Academy (www.CalgaryTutoringNW.com) is an online tutoring school from Calgary, AB. We currently teach more than 100 cohorts in our online school, and have tens of teachers happily working with us. We offer Math, English Literacy, French, and Coding (programming) lessons for elementary school students, in a group live lesson format.

We are currently in high demand for teachers who are available to teach during weekend hours, especially:

• Friday evenings
• All day Saturday
• Sunday mornings

Therefore, Braineer Academy believes in teaching that builds mastery, ensures transparency in students’ progress, promotes interaction and engagement, and offers sufficient practice.

Teaching Methods:

• Online teaching via Zoom – live, interactive sessions
• Group tutoring of approx. 3–6 students

Duties:

• Prepare lessons weekly based on our provided curriculum and lesson plans (very comprehensive and specific plans will be available)
• Teach live 60-minute online classes to small groups of students via Zoom
• Use educational games, videos, and props as guided to enhance learning experiences
• Assign homework after class via Moodle system and review materials in the next session
• Track student progress, provide feedback, and adjust teaching strategies when needed

We are currently hiring teachers who can teach:

• Great Writing courses to help students in Grades 2–8 improve writing skills
• Cambridge Unlock courses to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities
• Phonics courses to support accurate pronunciation and decoding skills
• General English courses including reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and public speaking

Qualifications:

• Experienced teachers or tutors in elementary-level English Literacy
• Familiarity with Great Writing, Cambridge Unlock, phonics, or general English curriculum is a strong asset
• Background in Education or holding a teaching certificate (or relevant subject expertise) preferred
• Skilled in using online teaching platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, Moodle, Kahoot!, etc.
• Experience teaching children aged 4–14 preferred
• Strong communication skills and classroom engagement ability
• Passionate about education and capable of creating dynamic, interactive lessons

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
