Boundary Electric is seeking a reliable and efficient Accountant to join our team!!

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting key financial processes such as reconciliations, tax filings, and month-end reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. The Accountant will work closely with the Finance team to uphold the integrity of financial data and contribute to the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax & Compliance

· Prepare GST, PST, and other tax filings.

· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.

Month-End & Journal Entries

· Support month-end close by preparing journal entries (accruals, prepayments, adjustments, fixed assets).

· Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate cutoff.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

· Oversee approval and coding of AP invoices and employee expense reports.

· Process vendor EFT and credit card payments.

· Act as primary contact for vendor payment inquiries.

· Reconcile vendor statements.

· Review AR aging reports and follow up with customers on payments.

· Receive and record payments, reconcile to bank account.

Team Support & Development

· Support Finance team in audits, year-end preparations, and special projects.

· Support development of Junior Accountant role.

Other

· Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace

· Understanding of cost accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

· Proficient in accounting software with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.

· Strong organizational and time management abilities.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision while prioritizing work to meet deadlines.

· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

· Understanding of accounting principles and practices.

· Preference given to candidates with a degree, certificate, or diploma in accounting, finance, or related field.

· 1-3 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.

· Availability to work full-time.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
