Culinary Instructor

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Culinary Instructor to join our culinary arts program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary techniques and a desire to inspire and educate aspiring chefs. This role involves teaching various cooking methods, food safety practices, and menu planning while fostering a creative and engaging learning environment.

Duties

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover a range of culinary skills and techniques.
  • Instruct students in cooking methods, food preparation, presentation, and kitchen safety.
  • Provide hands-on training in a professional kitchen setting, ensuring students gain practical experience.
  • Assess student performance through evaluations, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate them into the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a chef or culinary instructor with a strong portfolio of culinary skills.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students.
  • Ability to create a positive learning atmosphere that encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Knowledge of current food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Previous teaching experience is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
