About the role

DECAST is leading the Canadian infrastructure market, including water transmission, bridges, storm and sanitary, tunneling and engineered precast products. Since 1989, the company has continually expanded, adding new products, and entering new markets. Today, DECAST is the largest manufacturing facility for infrastructure products in Canada.

We are looking for a part time weekend custodian to join our team in Utopia, ON. This position will be responsible for ensuring the general cleanliness and maintenance of the manufacturing facility, including but not limited to sanitizing bathrooms/ locker rooms, emptying garbage receptacles, mopping floors and other tasks as assigned. This position will also perform other tasks that are similar in nature to ensure that the facility and surrounding grounds are clean and orderly.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain floors in a clean state by sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping.

  • Cleaning and sanitizing that includes washrooms, locker rooms, office spaces, common and entrance areas.

  • Empty and clean garbage receptacles.

  • Replenishing any used or missing supplies (toilet rolls, hand towels, hand soap).

  • Clean and service custodial equipment as needed.

  • Follow all company and department policies and procedures and adherence to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related legislation.

Skills, Education & Experience

  • Previous experience cleaning or custodial in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

  • Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and volunteer to fill open shifts when variations in staffing needs.

  • Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently. Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if necessary.
