About North Cariboo Christian School
North Cariboo Christian School opened its doors in September 1994, starting with 6 grades, 14 students, and 1 teacher. Presently, it has 6 teachers, a Principal, a Student Support Director, Business Administrator, 5 Student Support Workers, a Bus Driver, and 69 students ranging from grades K-9. In July 2002, the school relocated from the facilities at Bethel Pentecostal Church to the Richbar School Building. NCCS is an Interdenominational Christian School providing a Christian alternative in education for students. NCCS is a parent-run school where parents are involved in the school and making the policies that govern the school.
NCCS is a school where the teachers are Christians dedicated to presenting the knowledge from a Christian perspective, and are B.C. certified teachers. NCCS aims to have a strong academic program that follows the core curriculum as established by the B.C. Ministry of Education, using Christian and some public school textbooks, and taught from a Christian perspective with the infallible Word of God as the basis for all instruction.
NCCS welcomes students from all backgrounds; however, families applying for admission should realize that because of its roots in orthodox, evangelical Christianity, the school will stand for certain standards, values and beliefs which cannot be compromised. Also, at least one parent or guardian must regularly attend a Bible-believing church.
NCCS is the responsibility of Quesnel Interdenominational Christian School Society, which is a registered society made up of 6-8 board members and 5-6 committees. The day to day operation of the school rests with the Principal, Business Administrator and teachers. To become a member of the Society you must be over the age of 18 and agree with the purpose, basis and principles of the Society. Membership must be approved by the Board of Directors.
