Position Description
Join our dynamic team working as a Float Patient Information Clerk with the Acute Care Transport Service (ACTS), the NICU and the CCU. As a Float Patient Information Clerk, your primary role will be covering breaks and offering additional support in all three areas. You will receive full training in all three critical care areas. Your responsibilities include offering extensive support to clinical staff and contributing to the efficient operation of the team/department through proactive and organized handling of clerical and administrative functions.
Here's what you'll get to do
- Greet and assist families/caregivers
- Register, organize, and maintain patient charts and information systems
- Coordinate unit administrative functions for efficient operation
- Prepare requisitions and provide clerical support to NICU, CCU and ACTS staff
- Act as a liaison between patients/families and CCCU/PICU/NICU staff
- Answer phones, page providers, and coordinate calls with CritiCall
- Register patients, enter data, and support various programs and requests
- Maintain electronic calendars/schedules and documentation
- Support Virtual Critical Care
- Perform other duties as assigned
Here's what you'll need
Essential requirements:
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment
- Experience with patient registration systems (Epic preferred)
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., word processing)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Excellent telephone communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- Focus on teamwork, self-direction, flexibility, and initiative
- Attention to detail and efficient time management
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to service excellence
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion
Assets:
- Diploma in Medical Administration and Medical Terminology certificate
- Prior experience with EPIC

- The position is for 12-hour night shifts Monday-Sunday
