Job Description
The Clerical Lead will report directly to the General Manager of Operations.
This position will be responsible leading the day-to-day administration of distribution services, shipping, receiving, and inbound and outbound cross-dock business. This individual will work primarily out of the Dwight Warehouse location but will require the ability to travel to both locations on occasion.
Although the primary schedule for this individual is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, our ideal candidate can work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the business which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Effectively lead inbound and outbound cross-dock business, including the development of functional SOP’s
- Manage the day-to-day administration of distribution services under the guidance of the VP Sales & Marketing
- Schedule and plan clerical staff according to the needs of the business
- Contribute to Monthly Reporting Package through management and timely completion of distribution reporting
- Work with supplier/customers in identifying opportunities for effective logistics planning
- Effectively communicate ongoing performance of clerical services (KPIs)
- Work with Operations to ensure accurate and timely product deliveries for customers
- Effective conflict resolution related to customer as well as personnel
- Investigate errors with Operations
- Ensure paperwork is completed properly and delivered to Finance in a timely basis
- Work with supplier/customer to ensure protocol for cross-dock pallets is being followed, as outlined by Operations
- Other ad hoc projects and reporting as requested
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends to ensure tasks are being performed properly
- Assessing and training staff
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in a business, finance, marketing or equivalent
· Minimum 2 years experience in a sales, and/or customer service role
· Previous sales, customer management experience preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Personal Attributes:
· Strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills
· Strong leadership skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Flexibility and adaptability to a constantly changing environment
· Strong decision-making skills
· Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
