Pacekids Programs is a dynamic, family-centered organization that empowers children with diverse needs and their families through excellence in therapy, education, and play. Each year, we support over 500 children through inclusive, community-based programming that fosters development, connection, and confidence.
Are you a purpose-driven leader who wants to make a meaningful impact? We’re looking for a strategic, people-focused professional to join our senior leadership team as Managing Director, Programs. This high-impact role oversees the delivery and evolution of our Early Childhood Services (ECS) and Family Supports for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) programming.
As a senior leader, you’ll guide a talented team, foster innovation, and ensure Pacekids’ programs continue to change lives – every single day. You’ll have the opportunity to shape services that support children and families, influence long-term strategy, and collaborate across a values-based, mission-driven organization.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings strong operational oversight and people leadership experience, and is passionate about creating inclusive, high-quality programs that matter.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and support a high-performing team of managers, coordinators, and front-line professionals across ECS and FSCD programming
- Provide guidance, coaching, and accountability to ensure strong team performance and a positive, inclusive workplace culture
- Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing structures, and alignment with Pacekids’ strategic goals and funding requirements
- Drive program improvements, innovations, and growth opportunities to meet the evolving needs of children and families
- Ensure programs are compliant with all contractual obligations, reporting requirements, and internal policies
- Manage complex program budgets and monitor financial performance to support sustainability and growth
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government funders, families, community partners, and sector collaborators
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety practices and legislation
- Represent Pacekids in community and sector-wide initiatives that enhance visibility, reputation, and collaboration
- Contribute to organizational strategy and planning as part of the Senior Management Team
What You Bring
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant field (education, disability studies, business, or social services)
- At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in the nonprofit, education, or human services sector
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, build positive workplace culture, and develop people
- Strong operational and strategic leadership experience, including budgeting and contract oversight
- Deep understanding of program compliance, quality improvement, and community-based service delivery
- Familiarity with Alberta government programs and funding structures (experience with ECS and FSCD is an asset)
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365 and program documentation systems
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality in a complex, people-focused environment
- Clearance from a current Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) and Child Intervention Record Check, or ability to obtain
Location & Schedule
- Our brand new Sunridge location: 2850 Sunridge Blvd NE
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (occasional evenings or weekends as required for operational needs)
- On-site leadership presence required; some flexibility based on organizational needs

Pacekids Programs is a charitable organization that strives to empower children with special needs and their families through excellence in therapy and education. Operating for over 25 years and funded through Program Unit Funding (PUF) from Alberta Education, & Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), Pacekids serves children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Speech & Language delays, and more through a variety of programs in the Calgary area.

Programs & Services Pacekids' programs and services have all been developed to meet the needs of the children and families we serve. The expertise of our professional staff help a child reach its potential, at their own pace.
Our support services begin when we start working with a child - whether a newly diagnosed infant or an older child - and extends to that child's entire support network. Children in our programs benefit from the support of an aide assigned to work specifically with them.
