About the role

Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team in Rocanville, SK.

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic technician to join our team and make a difference in the safety world. This role involves hands-on work in underground mining operations, offering unique challenges and rewarding opportunities.

As a Field Service Technician, you will:

  • Inspect, repair, and provide comprehensive maintenance of vehicle fire suppression systems and various other types of fire & life safety equipment
  • Identify and address situations with effective solutions and recommendations, minimizing downtime and ensuring safety standards are upheld and in compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary paperwork, including inspection reports, safety records, and expense reports, maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with service coordinators to schedule service work and maintain appropriate inventory levels, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted service delivery
  • Perform site-specific training for owners and end-users and continue to educate them to operate and maintain safety equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure service vehicle is properly maintained, including necessary documentation l
  • Be the Face of Levitt-Safety for our customers and their onsite safety needs upholding our reputation for professionalism and care

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a mechanical shop or similar hands-on role, working with vehicles or other motorized equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge, with proficiency in using power and hand tools
  • Fire protection and suppression systems knowledge (through education, training, or work experience) is a strong asset and considered a significant plus
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work with technology and mobile devices for diagnostics, record-keeping, and communication.

Physical Safety Requirements

This is a physically demanding and safety-sensitive role involving various types of equipment and work environments. As such the following are core requirements for this role:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Physically able to work in restricted or confined workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
  • Comfortable wearing a supplied air respirator
