About the Opportunity
The Program Coordinator facilitates the participation of Métis Citizens in a variety of training opportunities through the Ministry of Skills Training, Employment and Post-Secondary (STEPS) that will lead to rewarding and sustainable careers. The Program Coordinator also provides administrative support to the Manager, Provincial Cohort. The role involves administering and managing funding for Métis learners, aiding students in admission processes and the STEPS application, and offering continuous support to enhance program completion. Additionally, it includes disseminating information about available programs, handling financial support data, assisting in program development and tracking, collaborating with regional STEPS teams, supporting the Manager, Provincial Cohort on diverse projects, contributing to communication content, planning and organizing meetings and events, preparing reports, and handling various administrative tasks. The position aims to ensure successful training program delivery and overall support for Métis Citizens.

The Métis Provincial Council of British Columbia was first incorporated under the Society’s Act on October 23, 1996. In 2003 the Métis leadership ratified the "Métis Nation British Columbia"​ (MNBC) Constitution thereby establishing a new Métis Nation governance structure.
