The Diagnostic Imaging department offers general radiography, CT, and US service. There is opportunity to learn or enhance CT skills. The Medical Radiation Technician I position includes days, evenings, weekends and on-call with a 30-minute response time. Relocation assistance based on eligibility & availability.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Technologist performing procedures in general diagnostic imaging, including hospital affiliated training programs. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Demonstrated initiative, good judgement and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and in emergencies. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable. Proficient computer skills. Ability to adapt to many changes. Demonstrated desire and actions to further own knowledge relating to profession. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and adapt to stressful situations using tact and diplomacy. Ability to interpret, explain and apply applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures. Receptive to new ideas and change.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent mobile radiography experience. CT experience or enrollment/completion of CT courses.
