Jean Tweed is a leading, community-based organization that provides a supportive environment for women and their families with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns. Recognizing the diversity of women’s experience in today’s society, our programs seek to address a range of issues in a woman’s life that may contribute to substance use and gambling concerns.

The Jean Tweed Centre is building capacity to transform the level of support for women and their families with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns.

We are currently seeking a Fundraising & Community Coordinator to join our team and support the day-to-day work of our Fund Development department. This exciting position is ideal for someone looking to start or grow their career in the non-profit sector, and who is eager to learn and contribute in a small, dynamic, and mission-driven team.

Fundraising Support & Logistics

This role plays a vital supporting role in advancing fundraising initiatives, community engagement, and donor stewardship, while also contributing to the smooth operations of the Fund Development office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for fundraising campaigns and initiatives by tracking and inputting donor data and donations
  • Assist with research for funding opportunities, prospects, and corporate partners
  • Conduct outreach and cold calls for in-kind donations, event sponsorships, and raffle prizes
  • Help coordinate and prepare materials for fundraising events and donor activities
  • Support the setup and logistics for events and onsite fundraising activities
  • Maintain organized records of donor communications, campaign outcomes, and meeting notes
  • Assist in preparing lists, reports, and templates for donor recognition and campaign planning
  • Gather program statistics, testimonials, and impact stories to support donor reports and newsletters

Executive Volunteer & Donor Relations Support

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, Fund Development & Communications to maintain donor relationships and support stewardship
  • Assist with managing the needs of Executive Volunteer Committees, including:
  • Scheduling meetings and preparing meeting packages
  • Recording notes and maintaining key documents
  • Providing logistical and planning support for committee-led initiatives
  • Communicate with donors and partners to ensure timely and accurate follow-up and stewardship
  • Assist with donor recognition touchpoints (thank-you calls, handwritten cards, seasonal updates)

Digital & Communications Support

  • Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Fund Development & Communications:
  • Help schedule and post pre-approved content on social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
  • Support the coordination of e-blasts and donor email campaigns (e.g., Constant Contact)
  • Help research and collect internal and external content for newsletters and digital updates
  • Support consistent, mission-aligned messaging across channels

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or relevant experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to learn and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Comfort using (or willingness to learn) tools like Excel, Constant Contact, Canva, and donor databases
  • Interest in writing, storytelling, or social media is an asset
  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events from time to time
  • A passion for supporting women and children affected by trauma, substance use, and mental health challenges
