Job Details:
Position Title: Systems Business Analyst - CPL
Status: Appendix D (1-Year Contract)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Continuous Professional Learning
Campus/Location: North Campus
Salary: FT Support Payband I (Start $39.34 - Max $45.59)
About the Systems Business Analyst Role:
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Operations, Continuous Professional Learning, the Systems Business Analyst (SBA) provides expert level system support and business analysis expertise to support operations and provide detailed requirements related to continuous service improvement, testing, release and incident management. The SBA is also responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the CPL, and meeting service level agreements in collaboration with other business units (i.e. finance, registrar’s office). The incumbent will work with stakeholders to identify and document functional requirements in support of process changes or enhancements; will document and coordinate testing with ITS teams and functional users, and ensure that systems meet specification during enhancements or quarterly releases; will maintain user manuals and other documentation; will create training material and train users on new capabilities and ensure data standards and security are maintained.

Education:
- The successful candidate will possess a 4-year degree or equivalent in computer, information science, Business
- Administration, Business Analyst or related fields.
- Certification in database management is an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated extensive proficiency working with student information systems and relational databases. Example: Destiny One
- Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes both verbal and written and translate to the technical team
- Experience working in the post-secondary education environment with understanding of college business processes, especially continuous professional learning
- Strong ability to work independently
- Superior logical and technical abilities to develop and modify complex application programs
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite and various tools to create and maintain system and user documentation and training manuals
- Extensive experience working with databases to produce query and reports using data mining tools such as Cognos, SQL, and scripting tools
