About The Role Kyndryl Canada is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer/ Kubernetes SME to join our team and play a critical role in the deployment and configuration of cloud-hosted Kubernetes environments. This full-time resource will be embedded within our team, providing hands-on support and expert guidance to ensure our redesigned Suite services are scalable, automated, and secure.
Key Responsibilities Kubernetes Cluster Management
- Review and optimize current deployments on AKS and on-premises (closed network)
- Provision, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters
- Manage cluster upgrades and patching
Deployment & Automation
- Assess and enhance CI/CD pipelines
- Implement automated deployment workflows
- Manage Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests
Monitoring & Logging
- Set up and maintain tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Configure centralized logging (e.g., ELK stack, Fluentd)
Security & Compliance
- Review and implement RBAC, network policies, and secrets management
- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards
- Evaluate DevSecOps tooling
Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose and resolve cluster/application-level issues
- Provide documentation and training for on-call maintenance staff
- Offer ongoing support to internal teams
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with internal stakeholders
Deliverables
- Fully operational and documented Kubernetes clusters
- CI/CD pipeline configurations
- Monitoring and alerting dashboards
- Security policies and access controls
- Weekly status and major tasking reports
Required Qualifications
- Active Level SECRET security clearance (mandatory)
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, networking, and security
- Strong experience with cloud-native services and platform-agnostic infrastructure
- Proficiency in IaC, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging tools
- Excellent problem-solving and advisory skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
