Financial Advisor Associate How does the role impact the organization? The Financial Advisor Associate plays a key role in identifying growth opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting financial strategies that drive revenue. This hybrid role blends financial analysis with business relationship management and development, making it idea for professionals who are both analytically sharp and client-focused.
The Associate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to our clients’ well-being, providing them with an excellent level of customer service. This position requires an energetic, entrepreneurial, ambitious, and driven investment professional with outstanding interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must have meticulous attention to detail, possess a positive attitude, and a client-centric mindset. The ability to work independently and collaborate as a team member is critical for success in this role.
What will your role be responsible for? Relationship Management
- Provide gold standard client service, anticipating client needs and concerns, and deliver high-quality service through phone, email, written, and in-person communication.
- Engage with new and existing clients to understand their financial goals and risk tolerance.
- Participate in prospecting, networking, and developing new business.
- Track sales pipeline and performance metrics using CRM tools.
Investment Management
- Stay current on market trends, financial regulations, products, and emerging markets.
- Work closely with the lead advisor to manage fee-based and non-fee-based investment portfolios.
- Prepare investment policy statements, portfolio evaluations, client commentaries/reviews, and investment proposals.
- Build and rebalance customized investment portfolios in accordance with clients’ profiles and compliance requirements.
- Monitor client portfolios and adjust strategies based on market conditions and life changes.
- Assist in research, analysis, asset mix decisions, and investment product selection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial planning and strategy.
- Liaise with the team to ensure client portfolios are consistent with clients’ financial plans.
- Execute trades.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, objectivity, and expertise.

What do we expect from you?
- Fundamental knowledge of investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry; and
- Competent in financial markets and products
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications;
- Previous experience in Analytics, problem-solving, organization, multi-tasking, and time management;
- The ability to work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail;
- Demonstrate advanced face-to-face, email, videoconferencing, and telephone etiquette and relationship management skills;
- Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of confidential information;
- Communicate proficiently in French is an asset;
- Previous experience in Salesforce CRM is an asset; and
- Entering trades is an asset.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- Completion of a degree or diploma;
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in the investment industry;
Licenses/Certifications
- The ideal candidate is licensed as an Investment Representative with completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practice Handbook (CPH) Course; and
- Completion of or enrollment in the CFP designation is considered an asset.
