Trade Reconciliation Representative - Ottawa

As a Trade Reconciliation Representative, you will be responsible for the balancing and reconciliation of client positions, as well as corporate control reconciliations, maintaining the integrity of clients’ accounts and the firm’s control accounts. You will research and monitor the clearing of exceptions within established guidelines, to ensure timely clearing, and escalation where necessary.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Oversee and support the reconciliation of all client positions, manage exception reporting, and execute daily trade settlement for both nominee and discretionary accounts
- Develop diverse communication channels among all internal stakeholders regarding the status of trade settlement activities
- Develop and maintain related procedure and work instruction documents and review and update regularly
- Submit, monitor, and track system defects and ensure efficient and timely solutions
- Champion a client-driven culture to ensure an easy, comprehensive, and valuable experience for both internal and external clients
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- University or College Degree in a related field
- 2 plus years’ work experience in the financial services industry
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practice handbook (CPH) is an asset
- Knowledge of the securities / brokerage operations including Trading and Settlements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- An ability to problem solve and are enthusiastic about delivering quality service
- A client centric mindset
- Demonstrated reconciliation and analytical skills
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- An ability to manage competing priorities effectively and meet critical deadlines
