We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team of existing engineers with the goal of automating and improving industrial manufacturing processes. Success in this role requires a strong interest in machine design, physics, design for manufacture and the drive to perform in a competitive industry.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components and systems for automation machinery using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or other CAD software.
- Participate in product planning and conceptual design
- Prototype and source material for new assemblies
- Develop detailed drawings, 3D models, and assembly layouts for manufacturing and assembly.
- Develop BOMs from CAD drawings
- Perform mechanical calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection for optimal performance
- Hands on working to build the assemblies to address design challenges and ensure feasibility
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of a minimum of bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automation, or special-purpose machinery.
- Good sense of design with some related experience
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of CNC machines would be an asset
- Strong CAD skills (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and motion control systems is an asset
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent problem solving, organizational and computer skills.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
