About the role
Job Description A Co-op student in the Build Strategy team will work to develop, maintain, expand, and refine the Build Strategy and associated analyses and evidence. The Build Strategy is a key source of information to align Irving Shipbuilding Inc (ISI) functions, sub-contractors, and customers on the approach for the construction of ships at Irving Shipbuilding.
Irving Shipbuilding is proud to support their student hires and will pay the fees associated with your co-op up to $1000.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve potential issues to construction.
- Perform capacity planning using simulation software for key work centers.
- Document all required aspects of the Build Strategy.
- Produce and contribute to the creation of the RC build schedule.
- Collaborate with multiple ISI functional teams to improve and prepare Shipyard processes for RCD production,
- Review RCD engineering documentation for application to and requirements for Build.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program.
- 0-2 years’ experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning.
- Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and ability to work within a team, but also confident to work unsupervised.
