Job Description Altum Health is seeking a Prosthetics & Orthotics Funding Advisor to support our patients and the prosthetics and orthotics team at West Park Healthcare Centre. As an integral member of Altum Health, the Prosthetics & Orthotics Funding Advisor will be responsible for coordinating all administrative aspects of the patient’s journey throughout the prosthetics process. This position requires strong communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. The candidate should be able to multitask and prioritize to ensure efficiency and to ensure that patient care needs are met in a timely fashion. This role will regularly liaise with patients, clinicians and third-party providers. Previous administrative or coordination experience working in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Liaise with patients to share knowledge on available resources, review requirements and eligibility for applications.
- Track application, approval, deadlines and funding received status.
- Work individually and as part of the clinical team, in order to ensure efficiency and patient care needs are met in a timely fashion.
- Contribute to creating efficient systems and workflows within the prosthetics department, including providing back-up support as needed.
- Manage data entry to track the prosthetics process from initial referral to prosthetics completion.
- Attend department meetings to facilitate functions that involve administrative and clinical staff.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year College diploma and/or certificate in healthcare/life sciences field or recognized equivalent required.
- Three (3) or more years of related work experience
- Knowledge of prosthetics and orthotics process/terminology highly preferred
- Exercise initiative and good judgement with the ability to multitask
- Ability to function independently with a high level of attention to detail
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
