Opportunity **Please note this is a six month fixed term role**

We are seeking a Securities Operations and Pricing Analyst for a 6-month opportunity within our Securities Operations and Pricing team in Edmonton or Calgary. If you’re a detail-oriented professional with technical expertise and a passion for problem-solving, this role is perfect for you!

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring investment data is clean, accurate, and fit-for-purpose. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the security master for publicly traded assets, validating pricing data, and managing reference data. Leveraging your technical skills, you’ll identify and resolve data issues while providing oversight for operational control functions.

This fast-paced, dynamic role offers exposure to best-in-class institutional investment systems—such as Calypso, SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, and Eagle—and the opportunity to learn about a variety of investment instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate and maintain the Security Master, Reference, and Market Data to meet daily operational control requirements, including new setups.
  • Investigate and research market data sources to resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with application support teams to coordinate and resolve data flow issues.
  • Measure, monitor, and develop data quality assessments and cleansing specifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Address and resolve user queries, requests, and problems in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to increase data quality and streamline processes.

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Mathematics, MIS, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in data management or operations.
  • Understanding of relational databases, system interdependencies, and data attributes.
  • Proficiency in SQL, C++, Python, Java, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when managing high volumes under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex data issues.
  • Knowledge of the investment industry, financial markets, market data, or trading life cycle is an asset but not required—we’re happy to help you learn.
  • Self-motivated learner who sees challenges as opportunities to grow and contribute.
