About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the CAD Technologist is responsible for checking survey field returns for quality, and perform survey calculations and computations to prepare data for drafting. This role is also responsible for the preparation of survey/engineering plans, compiling project reports, and related documentation for a wide variety of projects.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Post-secondary training in Survey/Geomatics or Civil Engineering program

Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D with Experience in Legal and Construction Drafting and Calculations

Surveying field experience an asset
-
Experience with Trimble Business Centre, including processing/adjusting GNSS data
-
Strong work ethic and proven reliability
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
-
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work as a team but also able to work independently

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Passion for excellence and attention to detail
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Review incoming field returns for completeness, accuracy and alignment with procedures
-
Perform primary/secondary survey calculations for piles, anchor bolts, foundations and civil works

Draft survey plans and as-built drawings from field notes and raw survey data
-
Perform volume calculations and generate 3D models
-
Redline and as-built drawings
-
Prepare survey control drawings and field data files for layout

Project documentation and document control
-
Maintain current abstract/database of IFC drawings in support of field operations

Quality assurance reports, as required
WORK CONDITIONS
This role will be located in our Calgary, AB office. Candidates applying for this position must be eligible to permanently work in Canada or presently have the required approvals to work permanently in Canada. Candidates must be located in Calgary.
TOTAL COMPENSATION
This role has a TOTAL COMPENSATION package that will provide this role with between $35.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on skill level and year's of experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Additional pay: Overtime pay
