An overview of your responsibilities:
The BOM Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining the Bill of Materials (BOM) within the organization's ERP system. The role involves taking over preliminary BOMs developed by application engineers and ensuring their accuracy, completeness, and integration into the ERP system. The BOM Analyst ensures the BOM remains current throughout the product lifecycle by implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), collaborating with cross-functional teams, and adhering to quality standards.
1. BOM Integration and Management:
- Review and validate preliminary BOMs provided by application engineers.
- Accurately input BOM data into the ERP system, ensuring alignment with company standards and procedures.
- Manage the organization and structure of multi-level BOMs for units/modules assembly
2. Change Management:
- Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and update BOMs in response to design changes, supplier updates, or production feedback.
- Track and document all revisions to ensure traceability and compliance with quality management standards.
3. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with application engineering team to clarify and resolve discrepancies or incomplete information in preliminary BOMs.
- Liaise with production, procurement, and inventory teams to ensure BOM accuracy and support manufacturing processes.
4. Data Quality and Compliance:
- Conduct regular audits of BOMs to ensure data accuracy and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Identify and address inconsistencies or errors in BOMs to prevent disruptions in production or supply chain processes.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate and distribute reports on BOM status, updates, and revisions to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation for all BOM-related activities to ensure transparency and support audits.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in ERP systems (EPICOR is a plus.
- Strong understanding of BOM structures and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Previous experience in a similar role in manufacturing, engineering, or product development environments.
- Knowledge of ECN processes and documentation.
This role ensures that the BOM reflects the most up-to-date and accurate information, playing a critical role in supporting efficient manufacturing, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
