Senior Financial Analyst – 10-Month Contract
Location: Downtown, Toronto| Hybrid

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Consultant for a 10-month contract within their Corporate Finance group. This role plays a critical part in supporting financial operations during a large-scale ERP system upgrade. The successful candidate will contribute to core accounting activities, system reconciliations, and financial analysis during a time of strategic change.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and execute monthly and quarterly financial close tasks, including the preparation and review of journal entries.
- Manage and reconcile data between various financial systems, ensuring alignment and integrity of financial information.
- Investigate and resolve system-related discrepancies through in-depth data analysis.
- Support internal and regulatory financial reporting requirements for the insurance division.
- Partner closely with technology and finance teams to improve integration between systems and reduce reconciliation breaks.
- Prepare high-quality reports and dashboards for leadership to support decision-making.
- Participate in projects aimed at process improvement and support testing during ERP enhancements.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive finance or accounting experience within a financial institution, preferably in insurance or related sectors.
- Hands-on experience with complex system environments, including data mapping, interface controls, and large-volume reconciliations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, large dataset handling).
- Solid background in ERP systems—experience with SAP, Oracle , or similar enterprise platforms is essential.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple systems and platforms.
- Effective communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- CPA designation (completed or in progress) is strongly preferred.
