Job Summary:
Reporting to the Head Chef, cooks are responsible for all culinary preparation and service operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the kitchen. The cook is in charge of adhering to menus and specifications, maintaining both the quality of meals and overall service.
Responsibilities for Various Cook Positions:
- Breakfast service
- Salad bar preparation
- Hot meal production
- Dinner service
- Sandwich preparation
- Any other related duties
Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
- Culinary or hospitality training (an asset)
- Food safety and sanitation certification (MAPAQ, an asset)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (required for some positions)
- Strong organizational skills
- Teamwork abilities
- Sound judgment and leadership
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform physical work (standing for long periods, long shifts)
- Ability to lift heavy loads
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
Schedule and Work Location:
- Willing to work on a rotational schedule (14/14 or 15/6)
- 10 to 12-hour shifts
- Work in remote regions
- Lodging and meals provided
