Kindred ReBuild is a community focused social enterprise that supports inclusive employment and will centre the business around the values of the circular economy, diverting materials from the waste stream and making sure as many materials as possible are being reused and repurposed as many times as possible. Nature of the Position

The ReBuild Store Assistant is responsible for helping with any and all of the day-to-day tasks at Kindred ReBuild, this includes collections and deliveries. The Store Assistant will be part of a team of dedicated employees committed to the vision of an equitable economy for all. The Store Assistant reports to the Kindred ReBuild management team.

Required Abilities

  • WCB Approved Workplace First Aid Level 1, or willingness to acquire
  • Ability to drive and operate a 20’ cube van with a automatic tailgate lift, or willingness to learn - Class 5 Driver's license required
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs
  • Manual dexterity and ability to do hard physical work
  • Proven ability to take directions
  • Ability to work on a team or willingness to learn
  • Ability to do research on the internet to determine pricing
  • Experience with a moving company an asset
  • Experience in a start-up and/or social enterprise environment an asset
  • Experience/knowledge with/in retail construction materials an asset
  • Knowledge of theory, principles and practices of the community living sector an asset but not a requirement
  • Willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Commits to modeling an equitable, inclusive work environment which celebrates diverse abilities, opportunities to enhance skills, in non-exploitive, and promotes value for contribution
  • Coordinates pickup and drop off of donations as they are received by the public
  • Cleans, processes and prices donation materials as they are received
  • Assists employees working at the Rebuild with equipment for lifting, cleaning and repairing
  • Attends Training as required
  • Other duties as determined by the team
