Community Evening Attendant-Aspen

Overview

Reporting to the Culinary Supervisor, the Community Evening Attendant is responsible to provide support to the kitchen in the preparation and delivery of the evening meal. This position is also responsible for the overall cleanliness and safety of the community with the ability to respond to emergency situations, when and where appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the overall security and safety of the community and residents. Resolves any emergency situations that may arise, following procedures and completing paperwork as required.
  • Performs Accounting for Residents during the evening meal and follows up on any unexplained absences.
  • Reports any unsafe working conditions or areas to supervisor or Community Manager.
  • Responds to any resident or family requests or inquiries.
  • Completes setup for the evening meal, including assisting with food preparation.
  • Uses kitchen equipment, including ovens and knives, to prepare food according to standardized recipes for next-day service.
  • Relays accurate information about events which occur during the assigned shift. Completes required checklists.
  • Responds to resident incontinence and follows proper cleaning procedures.
  • Participates in and promotes Silvera’s Health and Safety program.
  • Communicates with the assigned community at the pre-set times in compliance with Working Alone legislation.
  • Ensures community cleanliness at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains annual training compliance with regards to TLC training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Maintains a high standard of hygiene and personal appearance.
  • Prior experience in the housekeeping and/or the service industry is preferred.
  • Pro-Serve certification an asset
  • Must have at least a General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Able to work independently and as a team member to meet deadlines.

Work Conditions

  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work alone effectively.
  • Will be exposed to corrosive and non-corrosive chemicals.
  • Will be required to push, pull, and lift furniture.
  • Will be required to perform repetitive housekeeping tasks.

Hours of Work

Rotational shift work required, including weekends. All shifts are 8.5 hours and will be from 3:00pm - 11:30pm.
