This role sits within Laurentian Bank.

As a senior advisor within the Risk Management, Optimization and Performance team, you will support managers in project execution and activity review to reduce loss risks. You will facilitate workshops to explore process improvements, contribute to change management, and document procedures. You will also participate in various corporate projects, ensuring compliance with banking policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support risk management leaders in project execution by applying a project management protocol, while adhering to established timelines.
  • Review activities to reduce loss risks by focusing on key performance factors, simplifying processes and controls to ensure sound risk management and promote continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to explore potential process improvements.
  • Assess the impacts of proposed improvements.
  • Adequately document procedures resulting from process changes and contribute to the operationalization of processes by establishing close relationships with sales teams.
  • Contribute to change management by providing necessary training and communication.
  • Participate in various corporate projects as a representative of the risk management sector.
  • Adopt an exemplary attitude in terms of compliance and risk culture.
  • Ensure that processes and decisions comply with banking policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in management or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the financial sector.

  • Bilingualism (English and French)¸*

    Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and continuous improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma and/or any relevant certification).

  • Analytical skills and business acumen to propose proactive solutions to complex problems.

  • Proficiency in facilitating workshops and training sessions with stakeholders.

  • Strong ability to build business relationships and work in a team.

  • Autonomy, initiative, leadership, and the ability to influence and challenge the status quo.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Flexibility in work reorganization and adaptability to emerging risks.

  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
