About the role

About Western

Since 1878, Western University has been committed to serving our communities through the pursuit of academic excellence and by providing students, faculty, and community members with life-long opportunities for intellectual, social, and cultural growth. We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference.

About Us

Western Science ranks among Canada's top ten Faculties of Science. With 1,215 faculty and staff, over seven departments and six centres, the Faculty of Science is dedicated to advancing the scientific frontier in order to address societal challenges. We work in collaboration with members of the local, national, and international community to inform decisions which impact on issues of environment and sustainability, to build industrial capacity through, for example, the development of multiple applications for big data, and to challenge existing boundaries by conceiving new materials and biomaterials.

By virtue of our research excellence, Western Science offers a world-class and high impact learning environment for our undergraduate and graduate students. Home to 90 academic programs, incorporating inter- and multidisciplinary research, Western Science trains over 5,300 students annually. The Western Experience goes beyond the regular classroom and immerses students in hands-on laboratory experience in state-of-the-art research facilities, takes them out into the field to exposes them to science as it happens, and provides them with the opportunity to tackle industrial questions through internships and capstone projects. To study at Western Science is to truly live what you learn.

The Western Science community has built a tradition of excellence that goes beyond academics and research. Representing a global mosaic of dedicated and forward-thinking professionals, our faculty respects and celebrates the diversity of its members and is committed to creating a rich and inclusive environment for work and study for all.
