About the role

Job Description Work Location: North York (200 Steeprock Dr.)

We are looking for an individual to join our night shift staff (19:00 - 05:00). You will be working Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday; with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Off. Please note our shifts are subject to change based on business needs.

Rate Of Pay Please note that our pay is commensurate with your level of experience as a licensed technician.

The Pay Rate Is As Follows

  • For new hires with less than 1 year of prior 310T Qualified Technician experience with any organization, the rate is $41.92/hourly.
  • For new hires that have 1 year, but less than 2 years, of prior 310T Qualified Technician experience with any organization, the rate is: $44.29/hourly
  • For new hires that have 2 or more years of prior 310T Qualified Technician experience with any organization, the rate is: $47.71/hourly

Previous experience as an Apprentice does not apply towards this total count.

  • Sunday Shift Premium: $12.19 per hour (Shifts Commencing on Sunday)
  • Afternoons Shift Premium: $1.50 per hour (Shifts ending at 22:01)
  • Night Shift Premium: $1.50 per hour (Shift Ending at 08:15)

You will report to the Supervisor, Bus Equipment. Our Bus Fleet Maintenance Office is looking for a Coach Technician to diagnose, repair and inspect buses.

What will I be doing?

  • Manage the diagnosis of bus systems.
  • Implement replacement, adjustments or repairs to defective parts and components; and conduct quality control checks.
  • Perform Ministry of Transportation (MTO) required inspections as functions of the preventative maintenance program/commissioning process.

What skills & qualifications do I need?

  • Must possess and maintain certification as a Truck and Coach Technician, 310T designation, Interprovincial/Provincial Status.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Truck and Coach Technician - 310T designation in a transit /highway bus or similar heavy-duty repair environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of heavy transit and highway bus maintenance/repair, manufacturers' specifications/schematics, MTO specifications/requirements pertaining to legislated bus inspection requirements, and state of the art transit/mechanical technology.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's licence. Must meet corporate standard for a good driving record and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class "C" driver's licence and "Z" endorsement.
  • Must be able to obtain Ozone Depletion Card.
  • Must successfully complete bus related technical courses such as air conditioning, electrical and brakes, as well as other environmental and safety training as required by corporate policy.
