Their mission is to advance the visual health of patients by manufacturing and commercializing medical devices, natural health products, pharmaceuticals, tissues, and supplies to support ophthalmologists and optometrists in managing various eye conditions.

About the Role:
The Product Manager – Surgical is responsible for driving the success of the surgical product portfolio through strategic brand planning, cross-functional leadership, and high-impact marketing execution. This hybrid position uniquely combines traditional product marketing responsibilities with leadership in professional education and market development initiatives , including peer-to-peer clinical training programs that support procedural adoption by healthcare professionals.
The position reports to the Director of Marketing, Surgical , and involves close collaboration with Sales, Medical Affairs, and external stakeholders to ensure brand growth, customer engagement, and excellence in educational programming.
Key Responsibilities:
-Brand Strategy & Product Marketing
- Develop and execute annual and long-term strategic marketing plans for assigned surgical brands.
- Gather insights from internal and external stakeholders to inform positioning, messaging, and tactical plans.
- Manage product lifecycle, including campaigns, promotional materials, and go-to-market strategies.
- Lead the development of marketing content and sales tools in partnership with creative and regulatory teams.
- Monitor product performance and adjust strategies to meet revenue and adoption goals.
- Work closely with Sales to align marketing priorities and support onboarding of new sales representatives.
- Contribute to demand forecasting, budgeting, and inventory planning.
- Stay up to date with trends in the ophthalmic and surgical markets through field exposure and industry events.
-Professional Education & Market Development Initiatives
- Plan and execute peer-to-peer clinical education programs and training events led by experienced professionals.
- Act as the primary marketing point of contact for program delivery, ensuring impactful experiences for all participants.
- Collaborate with Sales to identify training needs and support field execution.
- Provide value-added support to clinical educators, including engagement, recognition, and broader sharing of insights.
- Encourage newly trained professionals to share their experience with peers.
- Track program impact using CRM and marketing automation tools; manage follow-up and cross-functional feedback.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of product marketing experience in medical devices, life sciences, or pharmaceuticals, with some field-facing responsibilities.
- Experience in the Canadian healthcare environment is required, including market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.
- University degree in business, life sciences, or a related discipline.
- Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Medical, Regulatory, and Operations teams.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with healthcare professionals, clinical educators, and subject matter experts.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva) and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot) is a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel for training events, field support, and conferences.
- Must reside in or near the Greater Toronto Area and be available in-office in Oakville two days per week.
The base annual salary for this position is $100,000, plus a performance-based bonus.
