HUSKY is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst that will play a critical role in ensuring that Husky Executives are supported with incisive financial analysis that illustrates key performance drivers and variances. The successful candidate will prepare monthly reporting and analysis, conduct complex ad-hoc analysis, support the budget and forecasting processes and assist in the preparation of presentations for the Executive leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • One of the role's primary focuses will be to generate monthly reporting on performance relative to budget and prior year and conduct analysis that provides insights into what is truly driving business performance.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of what is in actuals and what is driving business performance that needs to be leveraged to develop accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts.
  • Work with the Business and the FP&A team to develop business unit and consolidated annual budgets.
  • Ad-hoc requests are common and need to be prioritized and addressed in a timely fashion so that the correct Management decisions can be made.
  • Develop financial models and reports that are flexible, accurate and clearly present key findings and assumptions.
  • Identify and communicate reporting inconsistencies, to ensure accuracy and alignment in reporting and messaging.
  • Fully leverage existing tools – PowerBI, Dynamics AX, Microsoft Excel (Macro and VBA experience an asset)
  • Assemble monthly financial reporting package for various end users and stakeholders.

JOB RELATED COMPETENCIES:

  • Accounting designation or in progress (CPA, CGA, CA, CMA) and/or MBA
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), comfortable with Pivot Tables, graphs, and modeling data with multiple sources
  • Experience with Excel, PowerBI, Dynamics AX, Microsoft Power Pivot and Excel Macros / VBA is an asset.
  • Highly Analytical with detail orientation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Systematic problem solver and naturally curious

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, with CPA designation (~5 years’ experience)
  • Experience working in a dynamic manufacturing environment
