💼 About the Role
This isn’t just another finance job. As Director of Finance , you’ll be the financial backbone of Martell Media.
You’ll work directly with our leadership team to make data-informed decisions that drive growth. You’ll build systems that keep us agile, compliant, and ready for scale — all while translating financials into stories that non-finance folks can act on.

🧾 What You’ll Be Responsible For
Finance & Strategy
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Create forecasts and dashboards that drive leadership decisions
- Manage budgets and financial planning across departments
- Present insights that align spending with strategy
- Oversee compliance with Canadian tax and accounting rules
- Optimize cash flow and mitigate financial risk
- Prepare for audits and coordinate external reporting
Controls & Compliance
- Build smart approval workflows and internal controls
- Ensure financial policies are followed and regularly updated
- Run internal audits and spot opportunities for process improvement
🧠 What You Bring
Must-Haves
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- CPA (or actively pursuing)
- 5–10 years in senior finance roles
- Strong knowledge of ERPs and automation tools
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Proven track record of financial oversight and compliance
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in fast-growing or media/tech-driven companies
- Familiarity with people ops or HR-finance collaboration
- Past work on automation or reporting transformation projects
