Project Engineer, Municipal Infrastructure Engineering
D.M. Wills Associates Limited is in search of a Project Engineer to join our Municipal Infrastructure Engineering Team.
The successful candidate will be part of the team focusing on the delivery of municipal infrastructure projects including road reconstruction and infrastructure renewal. Projects may also include stormwater management and drainage, intersection design, water and wastewater capacity reviews, and water distribution modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sealing Engineering documents.
- Oversee preliminary and detail design for road and linear infrastructure projects.
- Complete preliminary and detailed design calculations in order to support engineering recommendations.
- Identify and solve complex engineering design issues in order to satisfy clients’ needs while adhering to applicable policies, practices, and procedures.
- Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans.
- Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
- Prepare technical documentation including letters, reports, drawings, specifications, and construction contract documents.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience related to the Key Responsibilities noted above.
- Solid understanding of engineering, theory, concepts, and regulations related to the field of work.
- Solid understanding of the principles and practices of budget development and financial management within the consulting industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act as it relates to supervision of staff and field work.
- Excellent communication skills, including mediation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
