About the role
The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for driving customer acquisition and revenue growth by leading and managing a high-performing sales team. This role focuses on overseeing the sales process, mentoring team members, and ensuring the team meets sales targets while collaborating with other departments to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The Inside Sales Manager will also provide oversight to the Estimating team to ensure accurate and timely order/project quoting.
Primary Responsibilities
Sales Team Management
- Lead, coach, and mentor the inside sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth, in part by following up on all quotes for feedback and strategy.
- Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Train and onboard new sales team members to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Set clear performance expectations, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster collaboration between the sales team and other departments, such as design and production, to ensure seamless project/order execution.
- Address team challenges or conflicts, working with Human Resources and the Operations Manager to resolve issues and maintain a positive work environment.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and sales procedures, implementing disciplinary actions when necessary, with support from Human Resources and the Operations Manager.
Estimating & Oversight
· Lead estimator on 2-3 Key accounts
- Oversee the Estimating team to ensure accurate and timely preparation of quotes for manufacturing parts. Review jobs once closed for accuracy in quoted times and processes.
- Collaborate with the Estimating team to review quotes and work orders and ensure alignment with customer requirements and company standards.
- Monitor the progress of quoted jobs to ensure deadlines are met and customer expectations are fulfilled.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sales manager, with a track record of leading teams to achieve sales targets.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members, clients, and other departments.
- Experience in sheet metal/custom fabrication or machining is preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD or Nesting Software is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Completion of secondary school; some college education preferred.
