Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.

The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

Supervisor, IT & OT Infrastructure

Lead and coordinate OT deliverables for Côté Gold. Oversee OT services to all Côté Gold sites. Report and communicate progress and participate in various OT projects and business improvement initiatives. Provide technical expertise, support, coaching and training to the OT Technicians. Manage OT consultants and other related stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1:

Lead others in a collaborative environment to deliver innovative continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Lead a dynamic team focused on OT strategy and execution, including security systems, server administration, and network administration.
  • Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and OT targets.
  • Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of Côté Gold.
  • Ensure the required resources (people and equipment) are in place to achieve targets.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching.
  • Create space for the team to be effective in delivering results while fostering an inclusive work environment. Continuously seek to improve the technical knowledge and skills of yourself and the team.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking to support decision-making and improve IT and OT processes, technologies and methodologies.
  • Keep abreast of trends in IT and OT, specifically in mining, and impart to Côté Gold.
  • Offer new approaches, methods or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.

Area 2:

Project and asset management.

  • Responsible for IT/OT purchasing, asset allocation and asset management.
  • Lead and participate in various Business and Technical projects.
  • Provide clear work objectives and expectations for contractors and IT/OT staff supporting the business and the mine site.

Area 3:

Technical and operational support.

  • Develop, monitor and continuously improve OT policies, procedures and system.
  • Develop and maintain OT-SOP on-site support.
  • Ensure spares for critical assets are available, and a list of critical parts and services is maintained.
  • Work collaboratively to diagnose, repair and communicate network and server issues and mitigate outages.
  • Participate and assume accountability for disaster recovery.
  • Ensure maintenance of network and systems is up to date and aligned with cyber security guidelines set out by IAMGOLD.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of Tickets and Monitoring alerts.
  • Installs new and replacement hardware, accessories and complete repairs to end user hardware as required.
  • Answer queries and handle requests related to OT matters.
  • Troubleshoots hardware and software issues.

Area 4:

Develop and improve infrastructure technology group.

  • Ensure high availability of servers and network.
  • Liaise and support infrastructure, mining and process technician as Tier 2 support for these systems.
  • Provide guidance and strategies for aligning work with best industry practices.

Safety & Sustainability Expectations

Directly accountable for the health and safety of yourself, your department and local communities. Directly accountable for ensuring IOC activities are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner. Demonstrate visible leadership on Health, Safety and Environmental performance at all times if in production environments. Be alert and observe, correct and report unsafe conditions. Develop, train and ensure all staff follow operating procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements. Ensure that work areas are in compliance with all of IAMGOLD’s Health and Safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Acts in the applicable jurisdiction. Intervene as necessary to ensure the safety of others in the workplace.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements And Nice To Haves

Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

  • College diploma in an IT or OT related field.

AND

  • Completion of a relevant specialized training program / certification; Cisco CCNA or CCNP, Microsoft MCSA or MCSE, Project Management Professional PMP is considered an asset.

Work Experience – Nature & Length

  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience with 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Experience in the mining industry or a related industry is considered an asset.

Additional Qualifications – Competency Requirements

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Works collaboratively and is comfortable dealing with all levels of management.
  • Effective project management skills including attention to detail.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment to produce results quickly and efficiently.
  • Well versed and able to support the Microsoft O365 product line.
  • Familiarity with wiring, cabling, communication protocols, and connectivity hardware.
  • Strives to improve own knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking, Fortinet firewall, Autonomous systems, Dell servers, LTE Communication is considered an asset.
